“It was just nasty”

Those are the words of 14-year-old, Ryan Hart, who bit into his Arby’s Roast beef sandwich only to realize that it contained extra meat — a human digit to be more precise.

Ryan said he bit into the sandwich and tested something that was like rubber — not terribly out of the ordinary for Arby’s but still he knew something was up.

The Federal Trade Commission confirms that California-based shoe manufacturer Skechers Shape-Ups toning and weight loss shoe is sketchy.

According to the FTC, Skechers agreed to pay a $40 million fine to settle charges that the company knowingly deceived consumers by making “unfounded claims that their Shape-Ups shoe would help people lose weight, and strengthen and tone their buttocks, legs and abdominal muscles.” Said David Vladeck, Director of the FTC’s Bureau of Consumer Protection,”Skechers’ claims went beyond stronger and more toned muscles. The company even made claims about weight loss and cardiovascular health.” (more…)

Think Like a Man is a romantic comedy which draws on relationship advice from the book “Act Like a Lady, Think Like a Man,” written by comedian, author and radio host, Steve Harvey (The Steve Harvey Show).

As if North Carolina banning gay marriage and half naked mothers milking their children on magazine covers wasn’t controversial enough for one week’s worth of news, experts are declaring that taxing junk food would significantly lead to a decline in obesity.

Full disclosure, the news comes from across the pond, where obesity is almost as big a problem as it is in the U.S., with Great Britain citing nearly a quarter of their adults are obese (while roughly 35% of Americans are considered obese).

What should be done about it? Continue to allow infomercials to advertise the juice diet that flushes your system of everything but its organs or think outside of the box — or if (more…)

Behold! Media shots of Twilight actress, the always expressionless Kristen Stewart at a photo call on the ‘green carpet’ (??) for a screening of her latest flick – that I won’t be going to see: Snow White and the Huntress. K. Stew probably plays Snow White – or not.

‘Girlfriend’ here is wearing one of my favorite fashion ranges – Marchesa. I happen to have a total girl crush on one of their head designers, wife of Miramax co-founder Harvey Weinstein, Georgina Chapman: the woman is talented and gorge.

Kristen here has had some hits and some misses when it comes to choosing red carpet gear - I feel quite comfortable claiming that either her personal fashion sense is questionable or she needs to stick with one stylist a season.

Time Magazine is shaking up the interwebz with its most recent cover photo, depicting a four year old holding on for dear life from his mother’s teet.

“Are You Mom Enough?”

It’s a less than subtle nod that being a mom in the 21st century might require a “manly” who-gives-a-damn-Im-gonna-do-it-my-way attitude, but its resulted in nothing more than confusion that can be summed in three letters: WTF?

“There are people who tell me there’s going to call social services on me or that it’s child molestation,” the woman in the photo, Jamie Lynne Grumet, tells Time…”People have to realize this is biologically normal. It’s not socially normal. The more people see it, the more it’ll become normal in our culture. That’s what I’m hoping. I want people to see it.”

Well you nailed it, the whole world now knows you’re okay milking your 4 year old, even if your four year old doesn’t have much of a say in getting to be front and center (give him 10 years when the photo is posted on his locker by either a) some bully who doesn’t like him or b) some girl who does). Er….

According to the Huffington Post, it has been found that popular STD sharing ‘cheating’/adultery website Ashley Madison gets hit by more married women looking for a little ‘extra-marital action’ the day after Mother’s Day – more than any other day of the year.

The affair-encouraging website, which advocates its mantra, “Life is short…have an affair,” has claimed in the past that almost 70% of their new users are unhappy wives looking for discreet, clandestine meetings with other men.

Adultery has made the company and the man behind Ashley Madison, Noel Biderman, very wealthy indeed. He founded the company in 2002 and named it after the two most popular baby names for girls that year: (more…)

Last week, California chefs circled their wagons around the assault on Foie Gras, a very pricy delicacy made from the liver of a duck or goose that has been specially fattened.

This fattening is typically achieved through gavage (force-feeding corn), which means the birds have tubes threaded down their throats until they’re butchered.

Eight years ago, California legislators said ‘No more’ to the practice they labelled ‘cruel’ – that is, no more Foie Gras in eight years. That eight years is up in July…. (more…)

We do our best to bring you as many feel good stories as possible, but this one might just take the cake.

Clair Lomas was left paralyzed in 2007 after she was thrown from her horse, but that didn’t stop her from accomplishing what many consider the ultimate challenge for the everyday athlete: completing a marathon.

She not only went about the challenge for herself, but to raise awareness for a cause which obviously has affected her life. After 16 days, Lomas completed the London Marathon wearing a bionic suit. Her effort raised more than £80,000 for Spinal Research, a charity which funds medical research around the world to develop reliable treatments for paralysis caused by a broken back or neck.

This one is a ‘must try’ -

This recipe was given to me while I was in Sydney this past week.

I made the PESTO sauce tonight so that I can refrigerate and use it on my ‘green eggs’ in the morn!

I like the recipe because one, it has minimal ingredients and thus will be quick and easy to prepare and two, I happen to be quite fond of the ingredients themselves.

Most traditional pesto sauces are loaded down with excess oil – too much of a good thing! (more…)

“Funbags. Boobsters. Chumawumbas. Dingle bobbers. Dairy pillows. Jellybonkers. Nim nums.”

That’s what Florence Williams calls breasts in her book Breasts: A Natural and Unnatural History.

Either Williams has a very vivid imagination or she just plagiarized the graffiti on a tween’s locker, but nevertheless, her book unearths some pretty interesting tid bits that we might never known about breasts.

For starters, what we do know is that breasts are getting larger, mainly because we spend countless moments staring/judging/manipulating them.
