Captain Obvious to the rescue AGAIN.
Federal court has ordered global casual shoe brand Skechers USA Inc. to give 520,000 customers full refunds on their trainer purchases in a $40 million+ class action lawsuit: The company claimed that wearing their $80USD Shape-Ups, $54 Resistance Runner and their $40 ToneUps would actually help you, the gullible customer, to lose weight faster.
The courts considered multiple factors in deciding to approve the settlement and found it provides just compensation to the plaintiffs.
The settlement amount covers more than 70 lawsuits from across the USA. The lawsuits were consolidated in federal court in Louisville. Skechers denied the allegations but said it settled to avoid long litigation.

When I first saw this story popping around reddit, not gonna lie to you – I thought it was a joke. I haven’t shopped in that store since college, how would I know?
Did some research on the American-retailer and on the news regarding their controversial stance on “acceptable women’s sizing” blah blah blah – come to find out, dude & Co. is serious.
“We go after the cool kids. We go after the attractive all-American kid with a great attitude and a lot of friends. Good-looking people attract other good-looking people, and we want to market to cool, good-looking people. We don’t market to anyone other than that.” Keep Reading
