Just realized that my little avi there is BRUNETTE which I am no longer. I need to create a few different avis so that I can switch them out as I switch my hair color. MONTHLY.
WHO IS Dr. Lipman? He is the founder and director of the Eleven Eleven Wellness Center in New York City – a health and wellness center that ‘focuses on helping people recover energy and zest for life through holistic and Western medicine.’
For the record – I am behind in about four different writing assignments yet I have time to be posting on Facebook and BLOGGING? M’kay.
Hocus pocus or not – I had to agree with the Doc: these SUPERFOODS should be integrated into your diet – make that part of your ‘resolution revolution.’ MORE… Keep Reading

I am totes trying everything so you peeps don’t have to!
I don’t drink DAIRY because I am lactose intolerant and I am not living with Lactaid pills (why would I pop pills to injest something that my body doesn’t like? Well, froyo on cheat meal day, mebbe…) -
So -I have pretty much tried it ALL with regards to milk replacements – Yes, I drink Lactaid occasionally but I try to limit my dairy intake outside of Greek yogurt….
Hemp milk (only good ‘on’ something), Almond milk (a tad sweet), Rice milk (thin as &^%$), Soy (I can’t drink it because most soy products give me a headache) and Coconut milk (too sweet and too strong when mixed with things) – Keep Reading
![Alicia Marie's BASIC Homemade Protein Bar Recipe [BAKED]: Add Your Own 'Fabulousity!'](http://fitpop.com/wp-content/uploads/2012/02/Alicia-Fit.png)
ERMIGAD!
There are 71973467635276543 homemade protein bar recipes on the web. I mean TONS. Every single fitness and health website on earth features one or five versions of the same ones.
Don’t let us fool you: fitness types lovvvvve to act like they’re reinventing the wheel? HELLLLOOOO (imagine me saying that with an annoying base-nasal tone) -
- I have yet to come upon a ‘revolutionary’ protein bar recipe LULZ. And I can say that because I’ve tried 95% of them.
They alllll use the same basic ingredients – with some minor tweaks here and there. Dih. Keep Reading

I won’t waste ‘ink’ ranting about the recent announcement by a MAJOR fast food chain that they’ve added a hot fudge sundae with bacon to their menu.
If I were queen of the food universe, I’d make these fast food peddling, money gobbling conglomerates pay for all the havoc their bloated food menus wreak on Americans’ health, especially the health of our little ones.
So instead of ranting, I’m taking the high road by sharing GOOD news made by GOOD folks who “just say no” to nasty, fattening foods and “yes” to foods that enhance health and taste good, too. Keep Reading

This one is a ‘must try’ -
This recipe was given to me while I was in Sydney this past week.
I made the PESTO sauce tonight so that I can refrigerate and use it on my ‘green eggs’ in the morn!
I like the recipe because one, it has minimal ingredients and thus will be quick and easy to prepare and two, I happen to be quite fond of the ingredients themselves.
Most traditional pesto sauces are loaded down with excess oil – too much of a good thing! Keep Reading

fitPOP’ers! Yet another reason why I love Oxygen Magazine. Made this and it’s a HIT FIT DISH for a BUSY AS HECK CHICK
This is an easy, minimal ingredient and prep time recipe – that you can make spicy (if you like it that way!) using lean ground turkey and veggies over angel hair – but I adapted it a bit using more spinach instead of the entire serving of angel hair. You can add more veggies for more happy tummy fiber as well. Broccoli anyone?
This recipe is from their collector’s FAT LOSS issue.
It’s good one to add to your clean eating recipe collection under ‘BASICS.’ Keep Reading

Hey kids! It’s “Cooking with Quinoa” time! Say it with me: “KEEN-wah”
Trust: I detest the word ‘skinny’ (SORRY, Bethanny – that little word was the source of many a nightmare when I was a kid) – I’ll use it right now for the uninspired.
If you live for carbs, but want something that has a little bit more to offer than your every-diet-day brown rice and Ezekiel Bread – look no further than this South American seed.
Why is ‘Quinoa‘ so fantastic, you ask? It is quite simply – the most nutritious ‘grain’ (or rather, ‘pseudo-grain’) that you can add to your diet right now. Keep Reading

No clue what to do? If you are anything like me – you don’t have the time for a HUNGRYMAN type Crackel Barrel breakfast ‘throwdown’ – but that doesn’t mean you can’t hit your body with a dose of the good stuff!
Below are just THREE of the better healthy breakfast options that are fast, tasty – AND satisfying. 2 of the 3 are GLUTEN-FREE! I’ll post more as I stumbled up on them and try them, of course.
NEWSFLASH: Whether or not you feel like it, when you wake up in the morning, your body is craving a usable energy source = fooood.
Heading straight to work without something in your tummy is the best way to ‘program’ your metabolism to burn slower all day.
Studies show that people who eat a good, healthy breakfast actually burn more throughout the day than those who skip the morning nosh. Keep Reading

Just a simple recipe from WHOLE FOODS that I tried last week -
Salsa is a health BEAST: fat free and loaded with flavor and vegetables. I love it for its versatility – I can make it hotter with more peppers (jalapenos! YUM) or sweeter with fruit. I put it on sandwiches and on top of chicken breasts (check out the fitPOP recommended breakfast idea HERE) -
Not to mention – for my time crunched Pink Ladies – it’s EASY AND FAST!
Many salsa recipes ask for sugar to be added – check the ingredients in most ready-made versions.
I always err on the side of leaving the sugar OUT – even if the recipe calls for it! To boost the sweet factor (if needed), adding mango, peaches or even strawberries always makes the grade – and it’s much better for your BOTTOM LINE! Keep Reading

Desert Dessert? Heck to the no!
Here we are with my sweet tooth again.
The need for satisfying but healthy alternatives to actually make my sweet lovin’ taste-buds happy after din din was the main reason I started in on Pinterest in the first place.
Below are FOUR good SHORT, QUICK AND EASY ones I stumbled upon this week that I wanted to share with all of my Pink Ladies -
NOTE that the below dessert “alternatives” DO contain sugars (though mostly natural..watch out for the last one, egads!).
Any of them are still MUCH better for your BOOTY than that All-Butter Pound Cake you were eyeing at the diner the other night or a big chunk of your mom’s cheesecake. YAY FOR BOOTY!
Nom Nom – but remember your serving sizes…you can iNdUlGE! Just not every night! Keep Reading
